ChildDevelopmentCenter

The Child Development Center at the University of California, Riverside provides a safe and fun learning environment to educate and stimulate young minds.

The center offers childcare for infants, toddlers, children in preschool, and children in kindergarten. Built in 2009, the Child Development Center features brand new facilities, Building A and Building B, both with top-of-the-line playground equipment and classroom set-ups, making it the perfect place for your children to grow and learn. When the center needed a new website, I knew right away that the redesign should feature big, bright photos of children and vibrant, welcoming colors. I created individual classroom pages to be set up for each class, featuring information about the class and a daily schedule.

The new website features a large slider with two unique calls to action that float over the slider, adding to the site's aesthetic appeal. Not only has the site improved design-wise, it functions much better now too. There are now organized categories for parents to obtain important information about each class and check daily schedules, as well as announcements and news on the homepage.

The new design exceeded client expectations, and we received very positive feedback. I'm anticipating the launch of the new CDC site at the end of this month, and am excited to see the response it gets. View the new, redesigned CDC website, or take a look at the old CDC website and compare.

BearLogic

BearLogic is UC Riverside's campus computer store, featuring student discounts and super savings on the best laptops, desktops, tablets, and computer accessories - everything you need to excel.

I was asked to create a single page, micro site, which will eventually expand into a larger, full-featured website. Since BearLogic is promoting the sale of various devices, I thought it would only be suiting to make sure the site is responsive and will function and appear beautifully on any device - phone, tablet, laptop, or dekstop computer.

The site features a modern, trendy header with jQuery expanders and user interfaces to efficiently pack heavy content into a smaller space. I built the entire site in gridiculo.us responsive grid and also using CSS media queries to specify certain breaking points, as to keep the site's mobile functionality in mind. The site also features an item slider, which allows users to scroll through some of the best-selling products BearLogic offers.

The clients were extremely pleased with the results of BearLogic's brand new website - one of UC Riverside's first responsive websites. The site was built in OmniUpdate CMS, so the clients are now able to log in and edit content themselves from any computer. The site launched on June 29, 2014, and the store's grand opening was on July 7, 2014. We've already received a great response from students and customers about the website, and the site is all set up and ready to go for an expansion into a full-featured website with a horizontal navigation. You can view the website at bearlogic.ucr.edu.

ConferencesBridge

The Conferences and Events website at UC Riverside needed a complete overhaul and a new redesign. The site was unfortunately outdated, with broken links, oversimplified content, and not exactly the most aesthetically appealing (or highly functioning) user-interfaces.

Conferences & Events at UCR hosts large events, summer camps, and meetings, and needed a website that promotes and sells the facility spaces to the community. The old website simply couldn't fulfil the clients' needs.

After discussing the additions and design changes with the clients, we realized we needed to nearly scrap the old site completely, and replace the content and design with eye-catching, clean, and modern user experiences that truly engage the user while allowing him or her to flow from one portion of the site to another with ease.

I designed a custom header that I illustrated for the site, depicting the UCR housing facilities most-often used for conferences and events on campus. The redesigned site features a slider with gorgeous photos of housing facilities and on-campus events. Multiple request forms and a new frequently asked questions page will allow users to get their questions answered fast.

The venues section is probably one of the most important, because users can now view a complete description, along with beautiful photos and 360° interactive, virtual tours of each room and facility. Along with venue descriptions, there are also organized tables for each venue, helping users decide on available space, capacity, and room dimensions. We are so excited to publish the brand new Conferences "bridge" site by Fall 2014. You can view the current, redesigned Conferences website, or see the old Conferences site to compare.

DiningBridge

UC Riverside's Dining site is currently undergoing a complete redesign. I designed the new look, which has been presented to and praised highly by UCR's Dining cabinet. Now that the design's been approved, I will also be building out and developing Dining's future website.

In the meantime, Dining currently has a barely functioning website that less than meets the standards for my clients. So, we decided to create a "bridge" site, which will be an updated and much nicer version of the current site.

I built this bridge site as a temporary measure until the future dining site is complete. The clients are more than pleased with the bridge redesign, and enjoy elements of the site such as the header that I custom-illustrated to portray the HUB, a hot spot for great food on campus. The clients and myself are optimistic about the positive responses this new site should bring.

The website also highlights important announcements and events, which can be easily updated by the clients themselves, since the site was built using OmniUpdate CMS. We are anticipating the launch of the newly designed Dining bridge site Fall 2014. You can take a look at the new Dining bridge site redesign, and also see the old Dining site to see how drastic the differences are for yourself.

MusicProjects

I love music - dancing to it, composing it, listening to it 24/7, playing instruments, and going to shows. I've been a DJ for multiple college parties, hookah bars, and clubs, but i wanted to take that next step from playing music, to actually making it.

The past several years, I've little by little been building a collection of original compositions - mostly electronic. I mostly use FL Studio to produce tracks.

I love dance music, electro, "EDM", and dubstep, so I've made a few songs of that style. I would, however, love to try for a new style, so lately I've been working at creating what I call indietronic. A little bit indie and a little bit electro. Just set that unique electronic bassline, and add touches of ethereal vocals and experimental sounds.

Most of my songs are still very heavily electronic-based, but I'll keep you all posted as soon as I create some indietronic tunes. In the meantime, you should definitely check out some of my current tracks - they're not too bad, if I do say so myself. Who knows... maybe you'll see me up on stage one of these days. ;)

I've created multiple EPs and one full album, which can be downloaded from my BandCamp site. I'm anticipating the release of my newest EP toward the end of 2014. To hear my mixed collection of various songs, visit my SoundCloud. I've posted a few of my favorites below - check 'em out! :)

LemonShoppe

LemonShoppe is an online skincare boutique I created to market my organic skincare products to customers all over the world. I've made sales mostly on the east coast, but also in other parts of the world such as China and Greece. LemonShoppe products are all-natural, and designed specifically for normal to dry, sensitive skin. I also make special products designed to treat sensitive skin of those with allergies to certain ingredients such as gluten. Perfume, soaps, shampoos, conditioners, lotion, and skin serums are just a few of the products I sell.

To sell my products, I have a website as well as an Etsy with beautiful photos and full descriptions. LemonShoppe would not be a success if not for Jessy, my fiancè. Jessy holds his PhD in chemistry, which made this whole project possible for me. He helped facilitate with the recipes for each product - we created and tested each product, slowly perfecting our formulas over time. I handcrafted all products, built the website, designed all of the marketing materials (labels, ads, and social media), took all product photos, and wrote all of the copy for the website and for each product.

As of late, the shoppe is on hiatus as we move locations. We are also in the process of rebranding the LemonShoppe to specialize only in perfumes and colognes. You can still visit the shoppe at www.LemonShoppe.com, or view the LemonShoppe Etsy store.
